Congratulations to our Utilita Kids Cup winners Peafield Lane, who won our Local Area finals on Monday 8th January, retaining their title from last year. Peafield Lane will now go on to represent their school, and Mansfield Town in the Utilita Cup Regional finals in March.
It all came down to the final game of the tournament between Peafield Lane and Mapplewells. Peafield Lane went into the game with 9 points and Mapplewells on 7 points. A draw was enough to see Peafield Lane go through but it was a last second free kick which saw Peafield win the game 1-0. It was a highly competitive tournament, made evident with close scores throughout the games despite the wintery conditions. Everyone involved should be very proud of their efforts!
We had 5 fantastic schools compete in very cold conditions on Monday for the finals, so a massive congratulations to all involved and a big thank you to those who came to support the teams!
