For another year, Mansfield Town Community Trust proudly visited Sutton Community Academy to take part in their World Book Day celebrations. This year, we were joined by Stags players Louis Reed and Frazer Blake-Tracy, who brought excitement and inspiration to the day.
Throughout the visit, our players and staff talked to students about the importance of literacy, not only in education but also in careers within football. Pupils were encouraged to ask questions about the players’ roles, training routines, and how reading and communication play a key part in the day-to-day running of a football club.
Thanks to the National Literacy Trust, every student received a free World Book Day book, sparking a love for reading and encouraging them to continue their literacy journey.
The event was a huge success, with students enjoying group reading sessions, engaging conversations with players, and discovering that the skills they develop through reading can open doors to countless career opportunities—including football!
Mansfield Town Community Trust is committed to promoting literacy and looks forward to inspiring more young minds in future visits.
