Successful Goalkeeper Camp Held at RH Academy

Mansfield Town Community Trust welcomed 21 young and aspiring goalkeepers to RH Academy on Wednesday 27th May for a fantastic day of specialist coaching, learning and competition at our Goalkeeper Camp.

Despite the soaring temperatures throughout the day, the enthusiasm and energy from all participants never dropped, with goalkeepers from multiple age groups showing outstanding commitment, effort and determination across every session.

It was brilliant to see so many young Stags supporters proudly wearing Mansfield Town shirts and goalkeeper kits throughout the camp, helping to create a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish.

The camp, proudly sponsored by UHLsport and associated with professional goalkeeper Liam Roberts, was designed to provide an elite development experience for young goalkeepers in a professional and engaging environment. Throughout the day, participants worked on key goalkeeping principles including Defending the Goal, Defending the Area and Defending the Space.

Players rotated through a series of position-specific coaching stations, each incorporating technical “Brilliant Basics” sessions alongside live, game-realistic scenarios to help build confidence, decision-making and technical excellence. The standard of effort and willingness to learn on display across all age groups was exceptional, with some fantastic saves, handling, footwork and distribution showcased throughout the camp.

The structured coaching programme catered for goalkeepers across the U8/U9, U10/U11 and U12/U13 age groups, ensuring every participant received high-quality support and development opportunities suitable to their stage of learning.

We would also like to extend our thanks to all coaches, staff, parents and supporters, as well as UHLsport and Liam Roberts for their support in helping deliver an unforgettable experience for our young goalkeepers. Every goalkeeper who attended the camp also received a pair of UHLsport branded goalkeeping gloves, alongside additional Mansfield Town gifts, helping to make the experience even more memorable for all involved.
