As we wrap up Day 5 of #EFLWeekofAction, we’re proud to highlight one of our most impactful initiatives — our Aspire Mentoring Programme — and to celebrate a special session held today at Sutton Academy with Mansfield Town players Owen Mason and Liam Roberts.
Owen and Liam joined our Aspire Mentees and staff to support a fun and thought-provoking session focusing on respect, teamwork, and personal development, and the EFL in the Community were also present to document the occasion!

The players took part in a lively relay activity, where students filled in missing words in sentences relating to respect and positive behaviour. They also joined a Q&A, answering questions about their own experiences during school and how values like discipline, communication, and respect have shaped their careers both on and off the pitch.
Today’s session was a brilliant example of how the power of football and relatable role models can help inspire young people, not just in sport, but in their approach to learning and personal growth.

The Aspire Mentoring Programme places Mansfield Town Community Trust coaches within secondary schools to help support behaviour, attendance, and the development of interpersonal skills. Through unique workshops and 1-to-1 mentoring sessions, our aim is to understand each young person and guide them to reach their potential.
A huge thank you to Owen Mason, Liam Roberts, Sutton Academy, and the EFL in the Community team for helping us finish #EFLWeekofAction on such a high.
