Men’s Mental Health Awareness Week with Lee Morris

This week, we want to shine a light on the incredible work that Lee Morris and his organisation, Optimise Learning Ltd, are doing to support mental health—especially among men and young people.

Lee is passionate about breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. Through assemblies at primary schools and mentoring programmes in secondary schools, he engages with students on topics like mental wellbeing, resilience, and self-awareness.

📢 As Lee shared:

“It’s fantastic to be involved in delivering assemblies at primary schools and engaging the children so they understand what mental health is and how they can look after themselves... It’s also great to be able to inspire students in the mentoring programme... teaching them self-awareness and resilience skills as well as where to get support when they need it. I love it!”

At Optimise Learning, Lee doesn’t just talk about change—he helps drive it. Whether it’s through mentoring young people, facilitating open conversations, or empowering others with tools to look after their mental wellbeing, Lee is a vital force in the community.

🎯 Why feature Lee this week

Men are significantly less likely to seek help for mental health issues. By training educators, managers, and communities, especially engaging young boys, Lee’s work helps normalise the conversation and build early, positive habits around mental health.
