On Saturday 2nd August, The Ollerton House hosted the first-ever Dave Frearson Memorial Charity Darts Competition. It was a brilliant one-day event set up to remember Dave, a much-loved friend, a big Stags supporter, and player of the Tuxford Darts League, and with the funds raised to go towards Mansfield Town Community Trust.
The day went great, with laughs, competitive darts, raffles, and plenty of community spirit. So far, an amazing £1,446 had been raised for the Trust. That money raised will go straight into the work we do with young people in Nottinghamshire, using sport, education, and community projects to give them more opportunities. We can’t thank everyone enough for donating, playing, watching, and supporting.

After some close games throughout the day, John Heslin came out on top as the first champion of the memorial competition. Yes, this was about darts and fundraising, but more than anything, it was about celebrating Dave. His memory brought so many people together, and it was clear the event meant a lot to everyone there.
The GoFundMe page is still open, so if you couldn’t make it, there’s still time to support.
From all of us at Mansfield Town Community Trust, thank you.
