Last Friday, our Education department came together to celebrate an incredible milestone – the completion of the Level 3 BTEC Diploma/Extended Diploma by our second-year students. The event was filled with laughter, pride, and reflection as we recognised the hard work and achievements of this fantastic group of learners.
Melissa Styles and Patrick Austin led the celebration, handing out a mix of serious and light-hearted awards that highlighted the unique contributions of each student. They shared stories and fond memories from the past two years, reminding everyone just how far the group has come — both academically and personally.
One of the most significant achievements of the day was celebrating a 100% pass rate across the board, with one student exceeding their target grade and five learners choosing to stay on for Higher Education. Even more impressively, every single student completed 30+ hours of required work experience, showcasing their commitment and professionalism.
Following the awards and speeches, the group continued the celebrations with a fun-filled bowling trip — a perfect way to unwind and reflect on their shared journey.
Patrick Austin summed up the spirit of the day perfectly:
"It was great to see the pupils achieve and progress greatly within their work, but more importantly developing into great adults, ready to go out into society, presenting the college in such a positive light."
Melissa Styles added:
"There has been a large success this year with many pupils achieving above their target grade. This has led the college to develop greatly in reputation, leading to a continually increased cohort with plenty more opportunities to come and success for the college and the community we support!"
We couldn’t be prouder of our learners – not just for what they’ve achieved on paper, but for the confident, capable individuals they’ve become. Congratulations to the Class of 2025 – the future is yours!
