Our Under-16 girls recently took part in the Premier League Kicks Cup at St. George’s Park, a fantastic experience for the team and a proud moment for everyone involved.
The tournament brought together 24 clubs from across the country, and it was a great opportunity for the girls to test themselves against teams from other areas. It was made even more special taking place the day after the Lionesses reached the UEFA Euro final, a reminder of what’s possible and the growing strength of the women’s game.
Wearing the Mansfield Town badge, the girls gave their all throughout the day. While results didn’t go our way this time, they played with great energy, stuck together as a team, and showed real character on and off the pitch.
This group earned their place in the tournament after finishing runners-up in April, and it was great to see them back again, representing the club with pride. The chance to play at a venue like St. George’s Park is something they’ll remember for a long time.
“The girls gave everything out on the pitch and showed what Mansfield Town is all about, commitment, character and community. It was a huge honour to be involved and see them take their place alongside clubs from across the country.”— Bradley Giles, Community Outreach Coordinator
Well done to the team and thank you to everyone who supported the day.
