The Park Schools Federation Crowned Sean Lynk Trophy Champions

The RH Academy hosted a memorable Year 1/2 Sean Lynk Trophy Final as The Park Schools Federation and Morven Park went head-to-head in a fantastic contest to decide this year's champions.

After progressing through a competition that began with 10 schools, the two finalists produced a match worthy of the occasion. The Park Schools Federation took a narrow 2-1 lead into half-time, but the final remained closely contested throughout.

Played across four quarters, with hydration breaks introduced to help players cope with the warm conditions, the match was a fantastic one-on-one contest between two evenly matched teams. Both sides showed great determination, skill and teamwork as they battled for the trophy, creating an exciting final for everyone watching.

The Park Schools Federation eventually secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against a very strong Morven Park side, lifting the Sean Lynk Trophy in a memorable afternoon of football.

Congratulations to both schools on reaching the final and representing themselves superbly. Every player should be proud of their efforts, sportsmanship and commitment throughout the competition.

The Sean Lynk Memorial Trophy holds a special place within our schools football programme. As a significant and heartfelt tribute to honour the memory of our friend and former colleague, Sean Lynk, a beloved individual who had a profound passion for football, we decided to rename our Key Stage 1 competition as the Sean Lynk Memorial Trophy.

Sean's enthusiasm for the game, dedication to young people and positive impact on those around him continue to inspire our work today. The competition serves as a lasting celebration of his legacy, bringing together schools to enjoy football in the spirit of friendship, enjoyment and sporting excellence that Sean championed throughout his life.
