Last week, our Premier League Kicks participants from Dawn House had the incredible opportunity to take part in the Premier League Disability Festival, hosted by Everton in the Community in Liverpool. The day was packed with fun, energy, and sportsmanship, as young people from across the country came together to celebrate inclusion through sport.
Our team shone throughout the festival, finishing first in their initial group and continuing their outstanding form by topping the Champions Group as well. With a rock-solid defence that conceded just one goal on the road to the final, the team’s performance was nothing short of exceptional.
The final saw us face hosts Everton in a tightly contested match that ended in a penalty shootout. Despite the narrow loss, we proudly came away as runners-up – a fantastic achievement and a day filled with memories.
The festival wasn’t just about football. Our young people took part in unique activities like Quidditch and Kin-Ball, expanding their experiences and embracing the true spirit of the event: fun, friendship, and inclusion.
Healthier Communities Manager Mike, who helped support the group on the day, said:
“The pride I felt watching them play was beyond words. Their teamwork, determination, and joy summed up everything this festival is about. They’ve inspired everyone around them – and me most of all.”
Huge thanks to Everton in the Community and the Premier League for hosting such a brilliant event – and well done to all the players from Dawn House who gave it their all!
