On Sunday 4th May, Mansfield Town's Marketing & Communications Manager Stephen Clayton and Business Development Manager Alex Cartwright attended the Stags Awards Evening to present this season’s PFA Community Champion Awards—a celebration of the outstanding contributions players make off the pitch, in support of the local community.
Each year, the PFA Community Champion Award is presented to players who go above and beyond to support the work of Mansfield Town Community Trust, serving as role models through their time, passion, and leadership.
This season, the club proudly recognised two incredibly deserving winners: Monica Bowley and Deji Oshilaja.

On Monday 12th May, the recognition was made official, as Ashley Hodson, Community Liaison Executive for the PFA, joined the Trust to present the trophies to both players and commemorate their achievements with a special photo opportunity.
Monica Bowley – Female PFA Community Champion
Monica has been a passionate and ever-present supporter of the Trust’s community work over the past two years. Whether she’s volunteering at school events, attending grassroots tournaments, or supporting Her Game Too fixtures, Monica consistently gives her time and energy with genuine dedication.
As ladies club captain, she continues to be a true role model for young players in the area. She is always ready to offer advice when approached and is quick to get involved with any new project that supports the wider community. Most recently, Monica supported—and actively took part in—the Trust’s brand-new Women’s Walking Football sessions, helping to promote inclusivity and growth in the women’s game across Mansfield.
Deji Oshilaja – Male PFA Community Champion
Deji has also shown outstanding commitment to the club’s community outreach throughout the season. He’s played a key role in supporting the Trust’s Premier League Primary Stars programme, engaging with local schools and helping to inspire young people through education and sport.
Deji also promoted the Trust’s community walk through messages of support on social media and played an important part in presenting Community Coach Bradley Giles with his Premier League Community Captain Award at one of the club’s designated matchdays. Throughout the year, he has been a constant, approachable figure—always ready to lend his support whenever called upon.
A Reflection of Mansfield Town's Values
Monica and Deji represent everything Mansfield Town stands for—leadership, humility, and a genuine commitment to giving back. Their efforts have left a lasting impact on the community, and the Trust is incredibly proud to celebrate them as this season’s PFA Community Champions.
We would also like to thank all players who supported Mansfield Town Community Trust this season. Your contributions help build a stronger, more connected community—and we look forward to continuing that work together in the seasons ahead.
