From Kicks to Community Captain: Celebrating Adam Glew’s Impact

As we mark 20 years of the Premier League Kicks programme, we are proud to announce that Adam Glew has been named our 2026 Community Captain.

Launched in 2006 to bring local young people together through football and positive activities, Premier League Kicks has helped hundreds of thousands of participants access free sessions, mentoring, and opportunities to build confidence, teamwork and a sense of purpose.

A Champion for Inclusion

Adam has been a dedicated presence within the Trust for many years, supporting sessions, events and community activities across a wide range of programmes. But over the past 12 months he has become particularly involved with Premier League Kicks, especially with our new all‑girls Kicks sessions on Thursday evenings at the One Call Stadium.

His commitment goes beyond attending sessions; Adam regularly volunteers his time for Premier League Kicks tournaments and community outings, ensuring participants can enjoy competitive football and build friendships in safe, inclusive environments.

Supporting Experiences that Matter

One of Adam’s recent highlights was helping the Trust team organise and support a trip to Burnley to play a friendly fixture, followed by attending the FA Cup fourth round match between Mansfield Town and Burnley at Turf Moor — a memorable day for everyone involved and a real example of community engagement through sport.

That fixture itself was historic for Mansfield Town, who rallied from a goal down to secure a 2–1 victory against Premier League Burnley and advance to the fifth round — a rare cup run moment that captivated supporters.

Words from Our Community Captain

Adam reflected on the achievement and what it means to him:

“I am very proud to accept this award and thank you to Mansfield Town Community Trust for allowing me continued opportunity to lead sessions and support the local footballing community so I can make a difference by providing a safe, inclusive environment to help all generations learn a sense of purpose and togetherness.”

This award recognises not just Adam’s time and energy, but the spirit of community that defines our work, bringing people together, fostering confidence, and opening doors through football. We couldn’t think of a better champion to celebrate as Premier League Kicks reaches its 20‑year milestone.

Thank you, Adam and here’s to many more years of positive impact!
