Last weekend, we were proud to welcome members of the Notts Recovery Collective to the game against Lincoln, supporting their continued journey of recovery through community connection and shared experiences. Craig from the Collective attended the fixture with several members, and it was fantastic to see them enjoying the occasion pitchside.
The Notts Recovery Collective is a member-led project empowering individuals to take control of their own recovery from substance addiction. Their approach focuses on members working alongside staff to shape and deliver groups, activities, and educational opportunities that reflect their lived experience. With ambitions to expand their reach across Nottinghamshire, they are building something truly community-rooted and inspiring.
Craig shared: “We are a member-led project, where our aim is to empower our members to take control of their own recovery from substance addiction. The idea is for our members to work with staff to bring their ideas on groups, activities and recovery as a whole to life.
We are looking to provide training so that members can help facilitate groups and run recovery-focused activities. We’re expanding across Nottinghamshire so we can have groups and activities running in all districts. We also offer educational courses, and we even have an allotment at the back of our Mansfield building, created entirely by our members. We run a gardening group there every Tuesday."
Reflecting on the matchday experience, Craig added:
“All had a great experience. This was a fantastic way to continue building our recovery community.”
At Mansfield Town Community Trust, we believe football has the power to bring people together, create positive shared experiences, and strengthen community bonds. We’re delighted to have played a small part in supporting the Collective and look forward to seeing their continued growth across Nottinghamshire.
