Come For A Kick About Brings Football, Conversation, and Connection to the One Call Stadium

Participants from our weekly Come For A Kick About sessions recently had the opportunity to take part in a special Play on the Pitch event at the One Call Stadium.

Many familiar faces from our regular Monday evening sessions came together to enjoy a game of football on the pitch before taking part in their usual chat and catch-up afterwards. The change of scenery provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone to spend time together, enjoy a kickabout, and continue the important conversations that make the sessions so valuable.

The event also provided a chance to reflect on the partnership between Mansfield Town Community Trust and Enlighten The Shadows over the past few years. It has been great working alongside Rory and the team to provide a welcoming environment where men can stay active, connect with others, and support one another through open conversation.

Enlighten The Shadows is a local men's mental health group dedicated to preventing male suicide and supporting men who may be struggling in silence. Through initiatives such as Come For A Kick About, they continue their mission of bringing light into the darkness of men's lives. https://enlightentheshadows.org/

Sessions take place every Monday (excluding the last Monday of the month) at Debdale Sports Club, with football from 6:30pm-7:30pm followed by an optional chat from 7:30pm-8:00pm. The sessions are free to attend and open to all men aged 18+, regardless of football experience.
