Following International Women's Day, this weekend’s fixture between Mansfield Town F.C. and Barnsley F.C. has been selected as our dedicated Her Game Too fixture, celebrating the impact of girls in football and promoting a game where everyone can enjoy football equally.
For this match, we are pleased to welcome six matchday mascots who will take to the pitch as part of the pre-match ceremony.
Four of the mascots were selected from over 100 nominations, with those chosen recognised for their passion for football, dedication to sport, and the positive impact they have on those around them.
A huge thank you to Free Kicks Foundation, who generously donated the mascot packages to help make this experience possible.

Amelia-Eva
Amelia-Eva has shown great strength over the past few years. After experiencing bullying and recently losing both her great-grandfather and grandmother, she has continued to push through while managing her anxiety. A Stags supporter since the age of two, Amelia-Eva has attended matches with her auntie and uncle, and football has always been an important part of her life. Being a mascot will make this a very special moment for her.
Amelia
Amelia is a passionate season ticket holder who first fell in love with football, attending matches with her grandad. Since his passing in 2025, continuing to attend games with her dad has become a meaningful way to honour his memory. Alongside supporting the Stags, Amelia plays competitively as a goalkeeper in both the Nottinghamshire Girls League and Derbyshire Girls League, showing dedication and determination every time she plays.

Sophie
Sophie is a fantastic role model at Dalestorth Primary School and was a founding member of the school’s girls’ football team. Through her kindness, encouragement and positivity, she has inspired many other girls to join the team and take up football regardless of ability. Sophie is also a talented swimmer for Mansfield, but reduced her swimming commitments to try other sports, including football. She now attends our Thursday girls’ football sessions and continues to show great passion for the game.
Sofia
Sofia’s love for football began from a young age. After raising over £300 in a school competition run alongside the Trust, she won a signed shirt and her first ever match tickets. Attending that first match with her stepdad began a shared experience that has strengthened their bond through football. Walking out as a mascot will be a proud moment for both Sofia and her family.

Alongside our mascots, we also have three teams that will also take part in the matchday experience as flag bearers. Two of our teams are winners of girls’ football competitions delivered by the Trust, highlighting the growing strength of girls’ football within our community.
Our tournament-winning teams are:
National Academy - Utilita Girls Cup
Peafield Academy - Premier League Primary Stars U11 Girls Cup
Both teams will proudly represent their school teams as they carry the flags onto the pitch ahead of kick-off.
The Her Game Too fixture provides an opportunity to celebrate the continued growth of the women’s and girls’ game, recognise the next generation of players and supporters, and promote inclusivity within football.
