Acorn Signs Trophy 2025 – A Final to Remember!

The Acorn Signs Trophy 2025 brought together the brightest footballing talent from school years 3 and 4, in what proved to be another thrilling edition of this much-anticipated tournament. Last year's champions were Berry Hill, with ten more eager schools stepping up to challenge for the coveted trophy: St. Josephs, King Edwin, Sutton Road, Greenwood, Farnsfield St. Michaels, St. Andrews, Leamington, Intake, King Edward, and Abbey.

The journey to the finals was fiercely competitive, with each school battling through the qualifying rounds to earn their place in the showcase event. As the finals got underway, it quickly became clear that St. Josephs and Greenwood were the teams to beat.

Greenwood made an emphatic statement early on, stunning the crowd—and their rivals—with a dominant 3-0 victory over St. Josephs in the group stage. At the halfway mark, Greenwood were firmly in control and looked destined to claim the title.

But football has a way of delivering the unexpected.

Through grit, teamwork, and an unwavering belief, St. Josephs staged a remarkable comeback. As other results began to swing in their favour, the final match—a nail-biting 0-0 draw—proved just enough to turn the tide. Against the odds, St. Josephs were crowned the 2025 Acorn Signs Trophy champions, lifting the trophy after a dramatic and hard-fought campaign.

A huge thank you goes out to all the families and friends who came to cheer on the players. Your support added so much to the day. Most importantly, a heartfelt thanks to all the schools who took part—you made this year’s final truly unforgettable.
